The Role
Reporting to the Conservancy Operations Manager, the overall purpose of the role is to effectively manage the
Conservancy departments statutory & operational responsibilities to the port.
Hours of work: 162.5 per month.
Duties of the role include:
• First line response to SERT events under ISM and participating in required drills
• First line response to OPRC emergency response and participating in exercises
• Plan and monitor dredging operations
• Ensure crafts are fully manned with correctly qualified and experienced crews
• Respond to navigational aid problems, including removal of obstructions from river and repairing
navigational aids
• Monitoring of vessel’s compliance with all relevant legislation and industry guidelines
• Collate and analyse down time and production figures including KPI
• Produce and manage rotas for dredgers and pilot cutters

The Candidate
Minimum qualification level – GCSE Standard
Occupational experience – 5 Years Port Industry Experience / 2 Years Technical Experience
Experience of Managing HSEE
Experience of Managing & Developing Operational Teams
