Last month we celebrated the news that seven of our incredible team had been shortlisted for the 2020 Multimodal 30under30 list.
Since then, the esteemed final list has been revealed and we are delighted to be the best represented company with three of our talented young people officially named in the prestigious 30 under 30 club of ones to watch!
PD Ports employees make up 10% of the final list, with Emily Clark, Trudi Billington and Chris Latham all receiving well-deserved recognition for their outstanding efforts within the logistics sector.
Emily is already a recognised talent within the industry and was the first PD Ports personnel to receive their place on the list, which celebrates young people who are paving the way for the future of the industry, as her spot was announced in the second round of winners.
Speaking of the achievement Emily said, ‘This is so exciting! It really means a lot to be that I was nominated in the first place, to be announced on the final list has given me such a boost.”
Trudi and Chris were both announced in the final round of winners and shared their gratitude to PD Ports for putting them forward for the opportunity.
Trudi, who was nominated for her commitment to PD Ports in the six years she has been with us, impressing in each role from a volunteer in the accounts department to her current role as Operations Superintendent.
She said, “It is privilege to have made the shortlist for the 30 under 30. It’s so rewarding to have your hard work and dedication within the industry noticed. Congratulations to my colleagues who also made the shortlist!”
Chris was nominated for his leadership on the gate automation and vehicle booking systems that enable the smooth flow of traffic in and out of Teesport.
Working incredibly hard, and outside of his usual responsibilities, Chris ensured that the projects were delivered on time and on budget and described his surprise at making joining the 30 under 30 list.
“Being shortlisted is definitely a privilege, and it gives me a great sense of pride to know that my hard work has made a difference and has been recognised.
“From a company perspective, to have three people on the shortlist is a great success story for PD Ports, and this investment in young people gives us the ability to continue to build our future workforce.”
We pride ourselves on our commitment to young people and whilst we extend our congratulations to our three winners, we are equally incredibly proud of our four shortlisted colleagues; Jacob Moat, Aisha-Mae Hind, Michael Chapman and David Morgan.
