Marketing great to reward creative talent

Our very own head of PR, marketing and communications, Kirsten Donkin will once again be judging the North East Marketing Awards this September.

After a grand success for last year’s inaugural event, it has been brought back to celebrate the achievements of over 50 companies, agencies and organisations from across the region.

Also a judge last year, Kirsten is keen to get involved to celebrate marketing ingenuity and creativity for companies large and small that are doing amazing work, and shining a light, on the area.

She said: “Having worked in marketing for over 15 years, I have seen many trends, successes and disasters when it comes to brand building. But what I love about it is that, regardless of business or industry, creativity is key.

“The North East is full of talent and I’m passionate about what these awards aim to achieve – celebrating and showcasing that.”

Kirsten has been responsible for the development of PD Ports’ group-wide marketing and communications strategy throughout her career, as well as being trustee in charge of PR and marketing for the High Tide Foundation – a charity aimed at raising aspirations for young people in Tees Valley.

A passionate communicator, Kirsten was named as one of the North East’s ‘Marketing Greats’ in 2017 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, so is well-placed for her upcoming judging role.

Kirsten will be judging the Integrated Campaign of the Year Award for agencies in September, with the winner announced on October 10th during a ceremony at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.
