PD Ports win Port Sustainability Award at British Ports Association Awards

PD Ports awarded the Port Sustainability Award at British Ports Association awards in the Portsmouth historic dockyard amongst peers in the port community.

Five years ago, CEO Frans Calje set everybody in the company a challenge to become “the UK’s most sustainable port company”  stating that as a business and as individuals it is our responsibility to leave the planet in a better position for future generations.

Since then we have been making changes in the way we operate, converting our machinery to more sustainable fuel sources, shifting our culture to be more mindful of our impact on the environment and putting down in writing our goals and commitments to sustainability.

Earlier this year PD Ports publicly launched its sustainability strategy detailing plans to become carbon neutral by 2027 and net zero by 2040. As well as outlining plans to support its people, the communities it serves and uphold strong governance showing honesty and transparency.
