Since their inception, we have supported Power of Women as we work together to tackle gender inequality in the ports and maritime sector. The initiative was created by a group of business leaders who were tired of young women being constantly overlooked.
Founded by the late Professor Jane Turner OBE DL, and now overseen by a passionate and diverse team, the campaign has an action plan to improve the lives of young people in the Tees Valley and beyond.
Its primary school programme works across the region, with ambassadors from 24 schools – both boys and girls – chosen to participate in Power of Women activities, before returning to share their learning and experiences with classmates.
Our partnership with Power of Women has been renewed in 2024 through our sponsorship of four ambassadors at Coatham Primary School.
