Across most corners of the world, as well as closer to home, the environmental effects of industrialisation and human activity are plain to see. For every project we undertake, we consider our impact and make sure all activity is carried out in the most planet friendly way.
We are always looking at ways we can work with the environment around us. The creation of our Environmental Champions allows our people to take pride in where they live and work, putting forward innovative and fresh ideas while helping us further improve our performance.
Working collaboratively with external organisations such as Natural England and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) – who we’ve sponsored for over a decade – we support the environment when and where it’s needed most. We were also the first UK port to sign up to the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) initiative led by the British Plastics Federation to actively minimise the risk of plastic pellets leaking into the environment.
This commitment also stretches across to our customers, who we work tirelessly with to reduce their supply chain carbon footprint. As leaders in portcentric logistics, we’re mitigating environmental impact by creating solutions that import cargo closer to its final destination; ultimately reducing travel and CO2 emissions.
